On Thursday, 26th March 2026, students studying Tourism at ESSJT participated in an educational study tour to Kigali International Airport. The visit aimed to provide learners with practical exposure and a deeper understanding of airport operations within the aviation and tourism industry.
During the tour, the students were guided by professional staff from Rwanda Airports who explained in detail how the airport operates on a daily basis. They learned about key airport procedures, including passenger reception and check-in processes, aircraft arrivals and departures, security procedures, and the overall coordination required to ensure smooth airport operations.
The session also introduced students to the different departments that operate within the airport environment and the roles of staff responsible for assisting travelers and maintaining operational efficiency.
This educational experience allowed the students to connect the theoretical knowledge they study in class with real-life practice. Observing airport operations firsthand helped them better understand how the aviation and tourism sectors function in the professional world.
Such study tours are an important part of the learning experience at ESSJT, as they strengthen practical skills, expand industry knowledge, and prepare students for future careers in tourism, hospitality, and aviation-related fields.
Through initiatives like this, ESSJT continues to promote hands-on learning and professional development for its students.
